主讲人简介：

         Dharma Acharya, President of KOSU Services LLC, USA. Prior to joining KOSU Services, Dr. Acharya was Assistant Vice President-Operations Research at CSX Transportation, one of the four major US freight railway companies. Dr. Acharya has over 30 years of experience in developing and implementing advanced multi-modal transportation solutions for railways, intermodal freight, public transit, trucking, and inland waterways. A number of decision support tools developed by his team have become an integral part of day-to-day business processes at CSX.

讲座内容简介：

       In this presentation, we will review how the US Railway system has evolved from being heavy passenger to heavy freight transport industry over the past century. We will also discuss many areas where Operations Research techniques and models can be applied to improve the railway operation and asset utilization. We will also highlight the importance of such models to be highly integrated in order to realize the full benefits.
